| At MENTOR Maryland | DC, we are continuing our celebration of African Americans throughout the month of February for Black History Month! We want to ensure our mentoring communities are uplifting Black voices, showcasing Black accomplishments, and taking a moment to reflect on the injustices that Black Americans have and continue to face. To assist in this process, we are presenting our mentoring programs with various ways for their mentors and mentees of every race and ethnicity to explore Black history and appreciate the Black excellence that has been so well hidden in the past. So join us in this beautiful celebration of Black history and check out the resources and events we have listed below! |

| MENTOR Maryland | DC Presents: Real Talk: Maryland High School Students Forum on Race Equity Wednesday, February 24, 2021 | 4:00PM – 6:00PM Encourage your high school aged mentees to attend MENTOR Maryland | DC’s youth forum “Real Talk: Maryland High School Students Forum on Race Equity” Wednesday, February 24th at 4pm! This youth-led forum is focused on education, collaboration, and ideation for the future. It will include a Youth Panel discussing their experiences with racism and inequality, the introduction of terms like “intersectionality” and “systemic power,” and a conversation on what the youth can do in the future to continue the fight so many Black Americans began centuries ago.
